FACILITIES & LOCATION

Coming from the UAE, Büyükçekmece, Istanbul provides much in the way of greenery and open space full of panoramic sea views. The family looked first explored Central Istanbul but couldn’t find a suitable place they could call home with all of the attributes they were looking for. Büyükçekmece offers beautiful landscapes, sea views, lake views (what we see with this particular home), forests nearby and lots of greenery, something they long for as they don’t have it in the UAE.

They chose an incomplete, or shell, house because they have an architect for a daughter whose skills they wanted to put to use by having her actively participating in the design stage of their home. At the same time they did not want to waste time on building a house completely from the ground up as that would take up more time than they are willing to spend on building their new home in Turkey.

ABOUT THE VILLA

The house has many features outside of your ordinary villa layout. Complete with Turkish Baths, a sauna, private swimming pool, and more this estate exudes the rush of Mediterranean modern luxury. The spaces are all open plan, which creates fresh viewing angles each time one exists in the space. The subtle, expert lighting features bath the rooms in natural light and artificial fills, creating an unforgettable experience. Each room showcases the cleanliness and beauty of the materials on display. A perfect indoor retreat just outside one of the world’s largest metropolitan centers.

INTERIOR DETAILS

For this project, the goal was to marry the clients’ preference for luxurious materials with the space. All while maintaining the functionality and warmness of an everyday home. The Armani Gray Marble throughout the main spaces raises the level of opulence while the neutral tones on the walls act to balance the space and keep it comfortable. This mixture of hard and soft, along with gloss and matte fills each room with a depth of texture and ambiance that is sure to hold the interest of any interior design aficionado. The showcase feature of the renovation is the grand entry way and marble feature wall. This would fit in well in any Renaissance palace, while being careful to showcase the family itself and not overshadow the rest of the home.
